Meter identification and inspection

Athelia Solutions has developed a solution based on meter identification by RFID tags, in order to optimise the data capture management and to make a strict control of the tasks and presence of the technicians in charge of reading and inspection activities of those meters.

The technicians are equipped with a handheld computer with an integrated RFID tag reader. The software application included in the handheld allows the management of reading and inspection activities of any installation with a meter.

All data are send and received in the handheld, either by batch or by GSM/GPRS communications. All information generated by the system is incorporated in the ERP of the company.

The components of the GasMeter solution are:

• Read/write RFID tags, encapsulated and fixed to the meter.


• Ergonomic handheld computer with integrated RFID readers. Some models have the ATEX certification for explosive environments.


• Management software GasMeter embedded in the handheld computer.


• SQL Server or Oracle data base, and the interface with the ERP of the company.
